“Life is the dance between what you desire most and what you fear the most.” – Tony Robbins.
As some of you may have seen, I recently attended Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within in Sydney. It was without a doubt the most incredible, life-changing event I have ever been to.
I have always been fond of Tony Robbin’s work and have consumed his content for years. However, immersing myself in his world for four days was a completely different experience. Unleash the Power Within made me develop an even greater appreciation for who Tony Robbins is and what he does. After seeing the amount of energy he poured into the four days, I became intrigued as to Tony’s mindset, beliefs, habits and routines.
When Success Resources announced they had interviewed Tony for their podcast and were sharing some of his more personal insights, I knew this episode not to be missed.
In this blog post, I share five fascinating facts I never knew about Tony Robbins:
I have read Shoe Dog and it is up there as one of my favourite books.
Tony is happiest when he’s serving. Tony learns and grows so he has something to give, and something to contribute that is meaningful. He feels it with his family and with his wife, who he sees as being the biggest gifts in his life. Tony also loves the team of people he surrounds himself when he travels, who feel like family. Being alone with them brings him joy.
Tony confided that at times he goes backstage and he cries because of the grace when someone stands up in their worst, most scariest moment of their life and that he knows he can make a difference. He finds that experience to be unbelievably meaningful.
Other than kindness, Tony would want to start a health revolution. There are revolutions happening in health as when things become digitised, then the scalability explodes. Tony is doing 16-18 miles on day one and 26-28 miles on day three of UPW. He is doing an ultramarathon on the weekend and hammering his body with more power and intensity than most people could dream of.
Tony is stronger and faster today than he was at 27 – and he is almost 60 years old. He says there is so much more than to simply show up. His energy is found in the way that he trains and he is constantly doing insane things – from oxygen deprivation to stem cells to cryotherapy. He does everything to be able to perform at a level where he can serve people with more energy.
These are some of the things Tony does to be able to take a building and shake it for 12-14 hours per day, across a number of days. Tony intends on being able to serve people for as long as he can do it, for another 20-30 years.
The Success Resources Podcast was packed full of so many incredible insights from someone who I truly respect and admire. Tony Robbins has no need to work or make more money (he currently owns 54 companies that generate over $6 billion of business). Outside of his wife and children, he says that making a positive impact on people’s lives is the most beautiful gift in the world.
This episode provided me with an insight into the mind of one of the most talented thought leaders in the planet. Whilst I’ve done my best to summarise some of my key learnings here, I highly recommend listening to this two part episode – it is one not to miss!

I recall you were reading show dog? I have to read it. He sounds like an extraordinary, unique person. I need to learn more about him. I really don’t know much. Does he write books? Is there a blog?
Thank you!
