Growing up, I suffered from extreme shyness and a real lack of confidence. I know what it feels like to have a voice but to be too afraid to use it for fear of being judged or not being ‘good enough.’ Whether we choose to admit it to ourselves or not, we all have limiting beliefs – that tiny voice in our head that tells us that we can’t do something, and that we shouldn’t dare to try.
Through going on my own personal development journey and having a powerful and inspiring ‘why,’ I have found myself in many situations where I’ve had to face my fears. Feeling the fear and doing it anyway is no longer the exception, but the norm. I’ve also learned through my own experience that being confident is not something that we are necessarily born with, and it certainly a skill that can be learned.
Building confidence has enabled me to achieve many things – be a more effective leader, communicator, get more promotional opportunities, earn more money, attract a different calibre of people to come into my life, make an impact… the list goes on. There are a multitude of reasons why building on your confidence is a worthy pursuit.
