“The only question is whether you’re going to do it today or tomorrow. If you keep saying you’re going to do it tomorrow, you’ll never do it. You have to get on it today” – Warren Buffett.
If your 9-5 job is no longer cutting it, it may be time to consider taking on a side hustle to earn some extra cash. I’ve learned through first hand experience that it is very possible for us to juggle multiple jobs or projects at a time. You may need to sacrifice some early mornings, late nights and weekends to do the work, but the benefits can be well worth it. I’ve put together some ideas of side hustles you can consider if you’re ready willing to take on the work:
A lot of people may be put off by doing this as it sounds like a lot of work, but selling unwanted clothes and items on eBay is a really simple way to earn some extra cash. All you have to do is download the eBay app on your phone, take a few photos, write a short description and list the item for sale. I have been selling my unwanted clothes, shoes and accessories over the past couple of months and have already earned over $2000. eBay is a great way to earn some extra cash whilst decluttering your space.
One of the most widely available methods for making extra money is to drive for Uber or Lyft. You can set your own hours and drive as much or as little as you please. All that is required is a car, smart phone and a valid drivers license.
Participating in market research is a great way to get paid by sharing your experience or opinion. Focus groups are generally found locally, however many can be conducted via telephone or online. Some focus group and market research platforms will allow you to earn up to $500 per week.
Amazon has become the world’s largest online retailer, accounting for almost every second dollar spent in online retail in the US. There are plenty of tools and resources to guide you on how to successfully launch consumer brands on Amazon.
There are many websites such as Upwork which allow you to register as a Freelancer. Freelance writing jobs are available now more than ever, and many of them don’t require you to have a ton of experience. Depending on your availability, you can choose to accept as much or as little work as you like.
What are some other side hustles you have thought about or tried to make some extra cash? I’d love to hear you thoughts, experiences and suggestions, please leave your comments below!
We all can use the extra cash! I’ve sold my clothing and furniture online. Wanting to get into some closet organizing and personal shopping. Great ideas – thanks.
So glad you agree! I’m all for selling items that no longer serve their purpose or bring me joy. You would be so talented at that – you should seriously consider that as a side hustle and / or career!
