How I Spend Every Saturday.
“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning and focused effort.” – Paul. J. Meyer.
Having a solid and consistent routine is something that I cherish. I love the days where I rise early and accomplish so much before 9am. It’s days like this where I truly feel like an unstoppable force!
I’ve often spoken about and have previously shared my morning and nightly routines. However, one thing that I have not previously shared in detail is how I spend every Saturday. I wanted to write this post as I often receive questions as to how I manage my side hustle with a demanding full time job. In addition to spending time early mornings and evenings on Boss in Heels, I also try to utilise every Saturday as effectively as possible.
Choosing to sacrifice brunches and other social events on Saturday to work is a personal decision I have made. The reason I made this decision was to be able to dedicate the time necessary to work on my goals and my dreams. I am not saying that everyone should sacrifice part or all of their weekend to work. I simply wanted to share the way in which I schedule my day, if working on a side hustle is something you wish to do and struggle to find the time.
Here is what a typical Saturday looks like for me:
6:30am: Wake up & make the bed.
6:35am: Gratitude practice and meditation using the Headspace app.
6:50am: Get ready for the gym. My workout clothes, shoes, towel and water bottle are already laid out the night before.
7:00am: Complete a one hour combined cardio and weights class at the gym. I train at F45 training.
8:00am: Shower and get ready.
8:30am: Eat breakfast whilst working through emails, responding to messages etc.
9:00am: Write a blog post (or two) for Boss in Heels. This often depends on my writing flow for the day. I am usually much more productive writing articles first thing in the morning rather than later in the day, so I like to tackle this task first.
11:00am: Walk to the local cafe for my daily coffee.
11:15am: Continue writing for Boss in Heels and producing other requested content.
1:00pm: Lunch break: I usually have lunch either at home, or walk up to my favourite local cafe for a healthy bite to eat.
2:00pm: Prepare social media posts, podcast interviews, work on my financials and other related tasks.
3:30pm: Tea break. I usually have peppermint tea and snack on some nuts.
3:45pm: Continue working through any other projects or tasks.
5:30pm: Wrap up for the day. If I have an event or dinner to go to, then I start getting ready for that. Otherwise, if there’s no where in particular I have to be, I may use this time to cook dinner and prepare my meals for the week to save me having to do it on Sunday.
How do you usually spend your time every Saturday? Do you have any routines or rituals that you follow? I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas, please leave your comments below!
You are the most productive person I’ve ever known! My Saturday is always diff. Sometimes it’s family stuff, cleaning the house, meetings friends, shopping, cooking… never a dull moment… I don’t really have much time for me at the moment. I need to get back into working out every Saturday and Sunday. Hoping to start again in January and work on a better “ME” schedule.
Awww that is such a lovely compliment, thank you! Sounds like you’ve been having some very busy weekends indeed! I always workout first thing in the morning which means I have the rest of the day to work or attend to other plans or social events. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely feedback!
Quite an organized routine. I can only imagine how your weekly routine will be, more organized. I’ll take a cue from this. Thank you.
I’m so happy to hear you found this blog post useful, Sarah. And you are right – I do keep quite a regimented routine during the week..! I would be keen to hear your thoughts and how you have applied these strategies!
This is well organized.
Thank you so much!
