As the most disruptive, challenging and turbulent year of our lives finally comes to a close, I take time to look back and reflect on the five biggest lessons I’ve learned, whether I was ready for them or not. No matter who you are, what you do or where you’re from, chances are you’ve been through some adversity in 2020. Businesses have faltered, we’ve been in lockdown, and many people have lost their livelihoods in this once-in-a-lifetime event. As we emerge from this uniquely challenging moment in history, we should all take a moment to not only assess the damage, but to recognise how we’ve been changed for the better.  In this […]

MOTHER SPF was born out of necessity when Tandia Walsh’s mother was diagnosed with leukemia. After extensive research, Tandia searched high and low for a sunscreen that wasn’t filled with hidden toxins. When she couldn’t find one, she went on a four year journey to create one herself. Tandia, along with friend and marketing maestro Elle Peter, created and launched MOTHER SPF, the all-natural sunscreen that’s a force for good in the world… and for your skin.  MOTHER SPF’s mission is simple – to bring individuals who do not have hours to spend on sunscreen research, a stress-free and all natural sun protectant solution that is both conscious in evolution and production and is a complete […]

5 Strategies I Use To Snap Out Of A Bad Day. “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” – Dolly Parton. Bad days. We’ve all had them, and I’ve certainly experienced my fair share. There are certain things which happen in life – getting cut off in traffic, being yelled at by an irate customer, unpleasant interactions… the list goes on. One thing I have learned, is that we can’t control what happens to us, however we can certainly control how we respond to it. There are a few strategies I have developed over the years to help me to […]

“If you want to be happy, set audacious goals that command your thoughts, liberate your energy and inspire your hopes.” – Andrew Carnegie. It’s the beginning of a brand new year! I always love the start of each new year because it feels like a fresh start and new opportunity to achieve our goals. And with 2020 now in the rear view mirror, it is time to shift our focus to what can be accomplished in 2021. However, if you have ever set a New Years resolution only for it to fizzle out a few weeks later, you are not alone. A study by The Journal of Clinical Psychology shows […]

With the festive season well and truly in full swing, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share some of my budgeting tips to not break the bank this Christmas. I am by default a naturally generous person, and so sticking to a budget for Christmas, birthdays and other occasions has always been something I’ve struggled with. Over time (and through doing the money mindset work), there are a few practices I’ve put in place to still be able to enjoy the festive season and deliver beautiful Christmas gifts, without breaking the bank. DETERMINE WHAT YOU VALUE One of the most useful practices I’ve developed when it comes […]

The 5 Minute Daily Practice That Has Changed My Life. “Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” – Eckhart Tolle. I’ve always considered myself to be a grateful person. No matter what is going on in the world, I always try and see the good in every situation. I suppose you could call me an eternal optimist. This year has been particularly challenging for many of us. The world as we knew it changed overnight. Travel came to an abrupt holt. Families have been separated. People have lost their jobs, businesses and livelihoods. The level of fear and uncertainty has skyrocketed […]

Key strategies for avoiding burnout and optimising wellness. “I have come to believe that caring for myself is not self-indulgent. Caring for myself is an act of survival.” – Audre Lorde. The concept of working a 9-5, Monday-Friday work week is something which feels strangely foreign to me. For as long as I can remember, I have worked in roles that have demanded a lot of my time and energy. To add the podcast, this blog, brand partnerships, coaching and consulting on top of an already demanding full-time job could easily become a recipe for disaster. I have been working harder this past year than I ever have in my […]

How my life has changed over lockdown. “True Life is Lived When Tiny Changes Occur.” – Leo Tolstoy. The past 7 months have been a disruptive period for many of us. I am yet to come across anyone whose life has been unaffected as a result of the restrictions which have been put in place, or the changes which have been made. From the very beginning, I have tried to be as positive as possible, and to see this period as an unbelievably rare time to do all of the things I have wanted to do, but have either put off completely or never seemed to have the time for. The painstaking moment I realised I had to stop saying sorry. “When we needlessly apologise, we end up making ourselves small and diminish what we’re trying to express.” – Maja Jovanovic. I was always raised to be a polite girl, and a good girl. Please and thank you’s are important, and I still pride myself to this day on being someone who has exceptional manners. One aspect of my good girl conditioning which hasn’t served me so well however, is the overuse of the word sorry. Sorry is a word which absolutely has a purpose. When you have done something to hurt someone or made a mistake, sorry is a […]

3 Steps To Crush It in 2021. “The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.” – Tony Robbins. Without a doubt, 2020 has been a challenging year for many of us. I am yet to come across anyone who has been left completely unscathed, or without having their life impacted in some way. However, with adversity there comes opportunity. Some of the greatest businesses we know today (IBM, General Motors, HP, Hyatt, Fedex to name a few), were born during a recession or other tumultuous circumstance. 2020 could be the year that destroyed you, or the year that made you. I don’t know about you, but I am […]
